Salina, Part 1

The seven sisters of the Aeolian archipelago scatter like stars across the Tyrrhenian sea. Unspoilt beauty runs in the family…and the island of Salina shines brightly with its volcanic mountains, its terraced vineyards plummeting into the sun-sparkled sea. The cult movie “Il Postino” was shot there.

The view is volcanic, with the peak of Stromboli in the distance and black volcanic outcrops in the sea nearby. The colors are almost exclusively white and blue, with whitewashed houses contrasting with the bright blue sky and water. Every building is the same height, style, color, apart from a few exceptions I’ll be happy to show later. Enjoy!

Eternity…in the azure waters of the Tyrrhenian sea...

Seductive and rugged beauty...

Troglodyte boat garages…

In the distance, the spitting, rumbling, smoke spewing active volcano of Stromboli.

In the distance, the spitting, rumbling, smoke – spewing active volcano of Stromboli.

… Captivating at night, when the volcano glows as it spews steam and smoke.
